The Archipelago trail shortcut - a refeshing day-tour out sea
During the summer season of Scandinavian Islands from 18.5. to 2.9.2012 the passenger ship m/s Östern connects the islands Nagu/Nauvo – Själö/Seili – Hanka (Rymättylä) with 3 departures daily. The sundecks of m/s Östern offer great photo-possibilities while cruising between islands of the Archipelago Sea. The two canteens onboard offer a light lunch/snack and hot and cold drinks.
The cultural heritage and peaceful surroundings of the Själö island makes it well worth a stopover on the way. Stoll/bike the island in your own pace, or book an archipelago guide well in advance. Själö with its’ beautiful tiny wooden church and graveyard has a very sad story to be told. The biggest building of the island and the former hospital for lepric- and later on for mental illnesses, host an active research centre of archipelago wildlife these days. Please make sure not miss the last departure of the day from Själö.
m/s Östern carries 130 passengers and 17 cars. Buses, caravans, mobile homes, bikes as well as motorbikes, and of course passengers without vehicles are as well most welcome onboard.
